Mission Statement
First United Methodist Church and School
Early Childhood Program
Jesus said, “Let the children come to me and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” Matthew 19:14
We, the congregation of First United Methodist Church, believe in the individual worthiness of the little children of God and freely support our School program.
We will strive together with our Early Childhood Program to affirm the families, provide excellent child care services, and most importantly, be constant examples of Christ’s love and care to each child and parent.
We accept responsibility to assist parents as their children grow in their spiritual, emotional, intellectual, social and physical development, and by supporting our school, we will enhance their goals.
We believe that children should have a safe, clean, and child-centered environment. And by helping provide and maintain our facilities, we will enhance these capabilities.
The vow that United Methodists speak at the baptism of children is one that fully states our commitment.
We will continue to support our School Director, teachers, and assistants as they maintain the high level of excellence accorded this program. We charge them to continue to pray for the will of God and the protection of God in all that they do. We, as the congregation of First United Methodist Church , pledge the same witness to the care of children and families in the church and school program.
