Volunteers in Mission (VIM) Disaster Response Team
The VIM Disaster Response Team from First Methodist serves areas hit by Hurricane Katrina, areas in Costa Rica, and
the elderly and handicap here at home.  Click here for more information and upcoming events.
 

Appalachian Service Project (ASP)
Appalachia Service Project, Inc. or ASP is a Christian volunteer organization operating in Central Appalachia, specifically in the states of Virginia, West Virginia, Kentucky, and Tennessee. The organization is concerned with home repair for low-income families, as well as a limited amount of affordable home construction. FUMC will be sending a team of seven volunteers ages 16 and up this summer from June 22-28. To be a part of this project contact Bryan Levangie. Cost is $200 per person.  Making homes warmer, safer & drier...Transforming lives

 
Caregivers Minstry
The Caregivers Ministry provides lunch on a quarterly basis for the caregivers at Breckenridge.   Click here for more information and dates.

Christ-Can 
The Christ-Centered Assistance Network Ministry is a collaborative effort among 19 churches in the Twin County area that was established to help meet the needs of those in crisis situations. FUMC supports Christ CAN financially and also through a donation of time.  Communities in Schools  CIS is the nations largest stay-in-school network. It’s purpose is to keep students in school through graduation and to offer “last dollar” scholarships for higher education. CIS helps the community take responsibility for it’s own children. CIS enlists the help of businesses, industries, churches, civic groups, service organizations and individuals to form partnerships that meet the needs of students and their families. CIS champions the connection of needed community resources with schools to help young people successfully learn, stay in school and prepare for life. 

 
The Pregnancy Care Center
PCC offers free pregnancy tests, pregnancy information, accurate information on all options, caring peer counselors, confidential setting, information on community resources, maternity clothes and baby things through the HOPE program, abstinence education, and post abortion support. PCC also works with students to promote abstinence, develop self-esteem, improve students’ life options through exercises in: responsibility, decision making, dealing with peer pressure. PCC also educates students about the reality of sexually transmitted diseases.

Stephen Ministry FUMC
FUMC’s Stephen Ministry is a part of our interdenominational program of trained church members who offer their time to those who are going thru difficulty. Click here for more information.

The Salvation Army
The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church. Its message is based on the bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.

Kairos Prison Ministries
